DAVID BERNAHL

David Alan Bernahl, II is a serial entrepreneur, concept creator, and brand builder in the hospitality, retail, events, technology, and experience spaces. In 2021 Bernahl joined the executive team of Cheetah Technologies, an app-based technology company, focused on changing the supply chain and last-mile logistics for the food service industry and becoming the first zero-emissions food distributor in the world. In 2022 Cheetah closed an additional 65M Series C Round and completed 3 M&A transactions. Prior, Bernahl was the CEO and co-founder of Coastal Luxury Management (CLM). CLM is widely recognized for creating and producing Pebble Beach Food & Wine and the Los Angeles Food & Wine Festivals, two of the largest luxury food and wine events in the world. 

        

Under Bernahl’s leadership, CLM’s restaurant division created a host of nationally recognized and award-winning concepts. Restaurant 1833 was nominated for “Best New Restaurant” by the James Beard Foundation, named “Best of the Best” by Robb Report, and lauded as the hottest restaurant in Monterey County by Michael Bauer of the San Francisco Chronicle, earning 3.5 Stars. CLM partnered with the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas to curate the social feast that became Rose. Rabbit. Lie. The social club was recognized as “Best New Las Vegas Restaurant” by Modern Luxury and Zagat as well as making it on the “Best New Restaurants In the US” list by Esquire. Faith & Flower was listed as one of LA’s best new restaurants by numerous publications and earned Top 10 New Restaurants in the US and Cocktail of the Year by Esquire Magazine. Cannery Row Brewing Company opened with the largest tap beer selection in Northern California and had features on Guy Fieri’s Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives, Rachael Ray, and in California’s Michelin Guide.

                          

Bernahl sold a stake in CLM to Dick Clark Productions, producer of the American Music Awards and the Golden Globes. The partnership allowed Bernahl to create new digital content and concept events around the company’s evergreen brands and assets. Additionally, Bernahl leveraged CLM’s portfolio of festivals and restaurants to provide boutique marketing and event services to luxury sector clients. CLM curated product launches, brand tours, boutique events, and client engagements for Lexus, LVMH, Dom Perignon, Chase Private Client, The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, and the American Music Awards. Bernahl was Co-Founder and CEO of Pacific Tweed, a luxury men’s and women’s apparel firm in Carmel, California, and was named one of the top 50 specialty stores in the United States in numerous trade publications.

Bernahl is involved in numerous community-based organizations: he is Past-Chairman and now Chairman Emeritus for CASA of Monterey County, a past board member of the National Food & Beverage Foundation. He sits on the advisory board for FestForums. Bernahl served as a board member on the California International Relations Foundation, an organization that represents the California State Senate in economic development conversations with the international community abroad. He is Past President of the Monterey County Sheriff’s Advisory Council, Past-Chairman of the Monterey County Workforce Investment Board, past board member of Monterey County Bank and Northern California Bancorp (NYSE: NRLB), past board member of the Carmel Chamber of Commerce, past board member of the Lincoln Club of Northern California, and past board member and Charges de Presses of the Chaines Des Rotisseurs.
